#291 Eventually Gale and Katniss slowly repaired their damaged relationship. They missed each other dearly, but neither really had the strength to pick up the phone and call the other. One day though, Katniss’ son had tried saying her name, and had accidentally pronounced it as ‘Catnip’. Memories flooded her mind – but only happy ones – so she called Gale and voiced what she had already known for a long time, but never had the wherewithal to say; that she forgave him, that she was sorry for everything she did that tore them apart and that she missed his friendship. In fact, she realized that she couldn't survive without it.
